Four Winds News

Our open workshop, The Drummers Path: Ritual and Ceremonial Drumming in July was a resounding and thunderous success! Well attended and well reviewed, and with much help from our very special guests Wolf Spirit Drum, traditional Native Pow Wow & ceremonial singers. Thanks for showing us how it's done, boys! We expect to do the follow up workshop The Many Song of The Drum: Uniting the Voice and the Beat, now scheduled for November 10, mark your calendars.

We continue to prepare to support the upcoming Ritual theater production of Inanna: Journey of Darkness and Light, for a three day run, September 14-16. It's coming together piece by piece with the singers, drummers, dancers and actors all working hard and learning a huge amount of new material. Several members have stepped up to speaking roles in the production and it looks awesome! According to Jezibell, Saturday is beginning to fill up but there are plenty of seats available Friday and Sunday. Sunday's performance has also been moved to a matinee,

Due to the World Trade Center Terrorist Attack, we have postponed these performances of Inanna: Journey of Darkness and Light, till January 4-6, 2002

A number of us spent much of the summer a journeying, receiving wonderful spiritual uplift and affirmation from having folks at Drum and Splash and Lodge Quest and participating in Four Quarters Farms' spiritually awesome Stones Rising. Upward and onward! Keep practicing!

We are also sad to report the passing of the Mother of former Member Max Santiago. Four Winds supported the memorials in song. As it should be. Many thanks to the Members who appeared for assists with that sacred task, including Four Winds Alumni Athena and DayaLi. Wakan Aloh. Washite Aloh Pilamaye..

Check out the July 9th News page for short write ups of Giveaway IV and 2001: A Bardic Odyssey. Kind of sparse I know, but we have been rather busy. But there are PICTURES, enjoy!-Kurt
