Four Winds News (updated 16 June 2001)
Greetings to All our Members, Friends, Fans and Allies,
Kurt & Heathers RENEWAL; Housewarming and 15th Wedding Anniversary was a very successful and blessed event. The Thunder Beings held off their blessing just long enough for Kurt and Heather to renew their vows on the grounds of their new home in a self-crafted ritual inspirited by Shinto tradition. The event was made all the more festive and sacred by the participation of Four Winds as Ritual Chorus and entertainment. Our deepest thanks and appreciation for blessing our union and our new clan home. Those of you who were able to be there, those who sent regrets and good wishes, and those who helped us GET there; blessings to each and every one of you.

Next up for us is a workshop event: The Drummers Path: Ritual Drumming and Chanting, in July, focusing on the ceremonial aspects of the precussive arts. This is part of our ongoing mission to teach and share these bardic arts. This is also training for Members as well as the community at large. Please partake of the opportunity. Over the Summer, Kurt and other Members expect to be participating in the very good events Lodge Quest and Stones Rising at Four Quarters Farm. Worth checking out at http://www.4qf.org
We are also preparing to support JezibellŐs Ritual Theatre piece, INANNA: JOURNEY OF DARKNESS AND LIGHT. We will be working on the material throughout the summer as well. And we will of course be continuing to study and practice our classics and standards. No summer vacation for us!
Check out the Schedule for June-August 2001 Rehearsal and Events dates .
2001: A Bardic Odeyssey
2001: A Bardic Odyssey was also quite a success with good weather and even better performances from Chorus Members and Grove Students and guests. We were once again back at Enchantments, where along with the set pieces, wonderful contubutions were madeby the entre circle. And to please the Director even more, slight mistakes from Giveaway IV evaporated in the ritual context. We even cowed some heckling construction workers. All in all a very good day with lots of singing!

Giveaway IV was a success and great fun for all. We all had a fab time and everybody put in an excellent effort! Big thanks to our Members, The Reelies, Hekatomb and our wonderful Fans!
And let me add.. now that I have a little more space.
I want to say that I am VERY pleased with everybody's effort and how well everything came out last night. Even our "experiments" came out OK and the minor glitches were nearly irrelevant. We ARE going to have to be relentless about start notes if we're going to be working with melodic instruments more. BUT overall, *very* good work everybody.
Ian says that the amp was at *tops* set to 1.5... Oh My Gods.. two words.. Sound Check. But overall very interesting and spooky stuff from Hekatomb...
Got to love The Reelies... wonderful to play and sing with them!
Thank you ALL for all your hard work and dedication! Sorry we did not supper with you folks. Clan was tired and not up to a lot of chaotic celebration energy, but were with you in Spirit!
