THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY REUNION SESSION

Our Afro – Middle Eastern – Worldbeat interpretation of
the classic holiday song. A Little Drummer Boy with drums!

I have always liked The Little Drummer Boy as a Christmas song, but the majority of the recorded versions all have skimped on drums, then its all woodwinds and harps and flutes and stuff. Where the heck were the drums?

Because I am a a total percussion junkie. I decided to try to record our signature percussion-positive worldbeat version.

A bunch the Chorus alumni got together and with a whole 15 minutes or so of rehearsal we managed to lay down a few good takes under essentially “garage band” conditions. Percussion tracks were added and mixed into a heady, but pleasing sonic chaos.

We had a grand time and hope you enjoy it!
Blessings of Solstice from Four Winds!

The Rites of Passage On...

On Sunday, July 10, 2005, the Chorus was ritually disbanded in a two part ceremony, a An Honoring of the Bard's Circle, followed by a Sacred Pipe Ceremony. The day was ended with a Wopila, a ritual giveaway for the Members attending, and of course a ceremonial feast! Kurt's closing remarks are on the News Page with some details of the day and more thoughtful comments on his decision.

Kurt comntiunes to sing and support a traditional Lakota Sundance on the drum with his Medicine Brothers of the Standing Bear Community, usually in early August. Please send him and the dancers your prayers and support. He also works with Lakota Singer Wille Black Cat and supports the local Wiccan/Pagan coommunity, incliuding the Wiccan Family Temple/Pagan Academy as a bard and teacher. He is also active with Four Quarters InterFaith Sanctuary.

Many of our Allumni continue to serve to spread and share sacred song, chant and rhythmn among the people. We are not displeased by this.

While the Chorus were active, we kept a standing invitation to any interested person who has a joy for singing and for spirit to consider singing with the Chorus. We were always interested in bringing new people into our circle of song. Anybody with a good heart and willing to work and study was welcome. The Chorus may have lived it's span, but we never the less encourage you to keep singing, share songs and chants and wherever possible, encourage others to do the same.

Our deepest thanks to everyone who has shared a circle with us, taught us a song, inspired us with their music, rythmns, dance, applause, or provided support, both material and spiritual. Each and every one of you helped us beyond measure, and you should all feel proud of the spiritual legacy you have helped build.

Keep singing, drumming and dancing out there!
