Ad Astra... Columbia Tribute / Photocomposite & Illustration

We all grieve for the nation's loss of the shuttle Columbia and her crew. Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of the astronauts. I created this image as a tribute and a wish that our nation, and mankind, does not turn away from this frontier of human exploration.

Versions 1 & 2. I revisited this artwork during my January 2003 Site Update. Made it clamer, cooler, more elegant. It’s amazing that over a decade one actgually accumulates more taste.
