News Update: 24 May 2000
Please Note: Those of you who received the May Mailing, we accidentally indicated a Rehearsal scheduled Thursday, May 26. That should be FRIDAY, MAY 26. Sorry for any confusion. ( - Kurt )
Also, our own Lady Elspeth is going to try out a magickal variation, "Elsbeth" for a better numerological vibe.
Four Winds News: 17 May 2000
We know that its been a while since we did a mailing or email brodcast of any kind, but things have been a little crazy. On April 12th, Choral Director Kurt Talking Stones house mostly burned down in the wee hours of the morning. Everybody is OK, but it certainly did interrupt business as usual". We are settled across the street and our phone number is still good. As you can see our Web page is still up and the email address is accessible, but not easily. Were trying to get a postcard mailing out sometime in the next few days.
However, the along with the gear, instruments, songbooks, records, and ritual material that were destroyed, all of our computer files, and the backups went away, which included our netscape address books. So our email list is gone, itll be a while before were doing that again...
Got a bit of good news on Thurday the 4th, Oasis Duplication www.oasiscd.com informed us that if we unpack and dry the surviving CDs from our basement, they will reprint the inserts and repackage the discs for FREE! ( and some Promo mentions ) Are these folks ever COOL, or what!? They just plain freaking Rule! So were getting the 600 CDs that were stored in the basement and flooded cleaned up and ready to ship out.
On another note, First Alto-Soprano and Founding Member Athena has been forced by her work situation to put herself on the Inactive Members list. You will be missed, dear Sister. We hope you will be able to come up for air and sing in our circle again soon.
We are still going to Magic Mountain Music, June 2-4, and we hope many of your will make the trek out to Four Quarters Farm in beautiful western PA to partake of a fab event! Were working hard on two spiffy sets, one performance and one interactive, and we plan to have a grand time. This will be our first real official Road Trip, Wha-hooo!

Enchantment's Grove Bardic 2000 went just fine back on April 15, and we would have liked to do Clearwater Revival after all, since several Members are not going to Free Spirit Gathering, but the event is booked up for the year. And dont forget, our door is always open for New Members. We study and teach as well as perform. Most dates count as open auditions. Feel free to drop in anytime* and Keep Singing!
*Note: Some final rehearsals and run-throughs are open to participanrts only.

We have been in the new apartment across the street for a few weeks now and are pretty settled in. Did the IKEA thing one weekend and gathered up the basics... bookcases! Looking a little cramped as we haul out salvaged stuff from the house. Weve had a few break-ins by some local punks and the end result of which is a 6-foot security fence around the place, along with some frayed nerves. In our voluminous freee time ( ha ha...) weve been gradually cleaning outt and salvaging the place. Dirty, messy work.
Acording to the builders whove looked at the place, to rebuild by-the-Book would entail rebuilding the entire third floor and half the second floor from scratch, and thre rest of the plece pretty much down to the frame. New floors, ceilings, walls, electric and plumbing throughout due to the massive water damage. Expensive... So all of the repair, rebuild, remodel, relocate options are on the table as the insurance process grinds along.
Got ourselves a storage space today to stash away the growing piles of stuff we're salvaging... onward. If we do another big salvage day, we may try to get up another posse to help us out. Well see how it goes...
For folks who have been asking what they can do. One of the overwheling losses has been our extensive library, Books, music and video... So anybody with Books and Music to donate, particularly Pagan, Native American, and Science Fiction and Fantasy, they would be very welcome.
Our Continuing Thanks to everyone who has been offering their prayers, energy, support and helping out.
Kurt & Heather
