Moonstruck Dummy Spread
Moonstruck
Editorial Illustration
Student work, Acrylic on Canvas, Pratt Institue, 1979. The assignment was to create an illustration for a hypothetical magazine spread that evoked the life-altering experiences of several of the Apollo astronauts on their voyages to the moon.

The constraints of the assignment were that the illustration should have room to accommodate a large headline and one or two columns of body text. I was still developing my visual style, but this was one of my most successful works under Jerry Contreras at Pratt Institute.

Re-creation of dummy magazine spread, my best attempt to replicate the visual style of the late ’70s. Original monochrome 3M Color Key overlay lost to fire.
