Silkscreen Illustration
A very sucessful printmaking project from my time at Pratt Institute. This is a 13-color hand pulled silkscreen illustration done after the Shin-hanga  Ukiyo-e style of the early 2th century, inspiried by Ito Shensui of the great names of the shin-hanga art movement, which revitalized the traditional art after it began to decline with the advent of photography in the early 20th century. Due to the generational loss in the multicolor process, (And my novice skills) I began with 100 sheets and eneded up with a final editon of only 13 prints.

The reference print I had was destroeyed in our 2000 house fire, and I thought all copies lost. However my aunt, who I had given one, gifted me back her framed copy for my portfolio. In 2019, I undertook a digital enhancement, adding the title and haiku in digital kanji, my signature, with the traditional seal given me by Richard Man.
